Two Years in Business, The Ups, the Downs and The Lessons Learned!
This month marks two years since Rebecca Garrod launched Rebecca’s Reflexology and Wellness in Wickham Market, Suffolk.
When Rebecca first started, she knew she wanted to help people feel better through offering reflexology treatments and wellness products, but had no idea just how much she’d learn and how many comfort zones she would cross along the way.
There have been many high moments, Rebecca says – meeting some wonderful clients, hearing how treatments have improved their wellbeing, bribing friends with pizza so she could pick their brains for business ideas. Rebecca commented, “It’s certainly been a mix of determination, laughter, and late-night problem-solving.”
There have been some challenges too, the quieter spells, the self-doubt, the endless to-do lists, and the steep learning curve that comes with running a business solo. Rebecca says she’s learned that success isn’t about everything going perfectly to plan; it’s about striving to do better and not giving up, especially when it feels progress isn’t being made.
Rebecca said, “Over these two years, I’ve stepped outside my comfort zone many times and can now say I enjoy attending local networking events around Suffolk, giving talks on reflexology and wellbeing, and sharing simple hand reflexology techniques that people can use at home to reduce stress.”
Running a small business has taught Rebecca patience, resilience, and the value of community support. “I would not be where I am now if it were not for my clients, friends, and supporters who have been part of this journey. Whether you’ve booked a treatment, shared and commented on my posts, offered advice, or simply encouraged me, thank you. You’ve helped turn my idea into a thriving local reflexology practice.”
