Framlingham Castle
Magnificent 12th-century curtain wall castle punctuated by 13 towers, with a large bailey and Mere (wetland/ lake) below. Follow the audio tour, climb to the top of the castle to take the curtain wall walk with awesome views of the Mere, the market town and its landmarks. Owned over the centuries by the Crown, rich Dukes and learned men, it is steeped in history and recorded as the place from where Mary Tudor set out to claim the throne in July 1553. Exhibition rooms, Lanman (Framlingham Town) Museum, café, seasonal trails and events.
