The farm was built ‘for decoration and pleasure’ in the late 1880s for the Duke and Duchess of Hamilton, who owned the Easton Mansion. Although the Great House was demolished in the last century, the mighty crinkle-crankle wall which enclosed it still remains along with a number of other estate buildings of the era within the village. The purely decorative ‘model’ farm has retained many of the original Victorian brick buildings to this day.
