Summer Market on The Hill a Great Community Event

The Summer Market took place in sunshine on Saturday, June 20th, atop The Hill at Wickham Market. The event featured 40 local artisan makers, crafters, bakers, and producers showcasing their handcrafted creations. Visitors relaxed in the shade while enjoying treats such as ice creams, waffles, and burgers. Entertainment was provided by Quaynotes, a well-loved local folk group, whose performance received widespread praise from attendees and vendors alike.

The market offered a diverse range of stalls, including small businesses new to the Wickham Market seasonal event. One first-time stallholder remarked, “It was a wonderful day, I spoke to many lovely people and appreciated how well-organised the market was, which made it very stress-free!”

Community and charity stalls also featured prominently, with organizations like Riding for the Disabled, the Gardening Club, and All Saints’ Church setting up pitches.

Local shops, cafes, and businesses saw increased foot traffic, with many visitors heading to Cafe 46 to enjoy coffee in the sun.

Looking ahead, the next Harvest Market is scheduled for Saturday, September 12th, from 9am to 2pm
