There is an opportunity to hear how Wildlife Sound and Conservation Technology is being used to monitor wildlife in the Woodbridge area when Dr Mark Bowler from the University of Suffolk presents a talk at Woodbridge Community Hall, Station Road, IP12 4AU at 7.30 pm on Thursday 20 February 2025.
The talk has been organised by Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Woodbridge Wildlife Group and Chairman Phil Smith said “This promises to be a really fascinating evening”
Dr Bowler added “Woodbridge is at the forefront of citizen science bioacoustic monitoring! We’ll listen to some bat calls from the town with our ultrasound speaker and bat detectors. We’ll also see some results of our remote audio and remote camera surveys at Foxburrow Nature Reserve, Martlesham Wilds and Sutton Hoo, and hear about our plans to arm Woodbridge’s wildlife enthusiasts with the means to monitor wildlife sounds as the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and partners work to enhance our biodiversity around the town.”
Admission to the talk is £4 for adults with under 25’s free. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a raffle. Doors open at 7 pm and there is no need to book for this talk – pay on entry with cash or card.
